1 Month Down 17 To Go!!

Image
This past week I hit my 1 month mark of being a missionary!! I know big deal right hahahaha anyways this week FLEW by I can't even hardly remember what happened but I'll try to summarize.  We started teaching someone new named Henry and he is the BIGGEST sweetheart and just wants to change and grow is relationship with Christ he's so amazing! Me and sister siddoway planned to go street contacting at 2pm one of these days then the time came and it was over 100 degrees and in the middle of the work day so we thought no chance people were going to be out, but we decided to stick with our plan anyways and look for the "elect" (people who are ready to hear the gospel haha) and we ended up finding 6 people in a row who were so loving and wanted to talk to us which is not super common so it was such miracle. Anyways we ended up getting all their contact info and hopefully have some lessons with them coming up soon! The biggest highlight of this week was getting invited t...

ONE MONTH!

Was that a fast month or WHAT?!? We are so incredibly proud of you Eden. Your contagious happy spirit and positive attitude every single time we talk to you has been such a blessing to us!  You've been such a good example to your siblings and cousins already. Keep them in mind as you continue writing emails home. Know that those simple emails are a really meaningful part of your missionary service as well. You never know who is searching or who the Lord will reach through the experiences you share. I know without a doubt that the Savior needs exactly what only you can offer to HIs work in this moment.  You can thank Elder Hoggan for showing off  a bit and doing just that in NC. So proud of you both. You're the most incredible kids. Love you! Mom

AHHH!! After a 3am wake up, two trains, a bus, and a plane I successfully made it to Floridaaaaa!! The APs picked us up in a van with a giant trailer from the airport. As soon as we were pulling away the back of the trailer took out a car door haha!.  We waited around in the van for about an hour before the cops came so the mission started out very memorable!  It was a crazy time but I'm really happy to be here. It is seriously SO BEAUTIFUL and everyone I've met has been so incredibly nice and welcoming! I'm in a town called Oviedo and I just love it. The ward members are all so amazing. We get fed dinner almost every single night. My first night here a cute member made me an all green dinner because I was the brand new "greenie" My trainer Sister Siddoway is seriously the best. She just got out of training herself and is the best teacher- so patient and understanding. We kind of talk the same and have very similar mannerisms. At least three or four times a day th...

So PROUD!

Dear Beauty Girl, Thank you SO much for the wonderful email babe. I can't possibly tell you how much it ment to me. I know it touched everyone who read it as well.  A few people mentioned it to me. It was truly a piece of heaven to hear some of the beautiful things you said. When you spoke of feeling yourself drawing nearer to the Savior and your heart changing, I had tears running down my cheeks. When you referenced those scriptures, I looked them right up. That ENTIRE chapter in Alma made my heart burn as I read before and after the verses you shared. It was a very special feeling and chapter.  I love you so much. You fill my soul with such pride and pure joy. I can't wait to read your next email. (The English lover in me MAY have added a few periods and shut down the run on sentences by making one sentence into two, but  honestly who's counting.  That period is  your friend! haha ) I would never dream of changing any piece of your words Eds. It was the honest...

Done With The MTC

Well hahahah I'm an idiot and don't know how to work a Samsung and I wrote this whole heartfelt email and accidentally deleted it... so this will be a quick one but I figured I needed to get an email out before I left the mtc hahah For starters home mtc was actually pretty good my zooms didn't feel too long and the spirit was always strong while I was in classes. It also helped a lot that my mom was my personal chauffeur and took me to swig like three times a day haha I love you mom!! Saying goodbye too my family was really so so incredibly hard but I know I'm in the right place right now so that brings me a lot of peace and comfort. It was also so so helpful and fun to meet my district and my companion in person! They all make me so happy!! Me and my comp are complete opposites, she's super cool and athletic and I'm a Lil more girly but we get along really well and we laugh a lot together. I also have learned SO much from her about teaching and listening to the...

Week 2

Hello Darling Daughter, Well, we already miss you. That should come as no surprise. Your bed is still unmade and your room is a little messy. I don't think Mom can bring herself to remove the evidence of your being here. Things are good at home. Everyone finished their last week of school. With all the goings-on, Luke was 'promoted' from 8th grade with no fanfare. I don't know if that's a symptom of having 5 kids or just the result of a very busy week. In true Luke fashion, I don't think it bothered him much. There were the usual end-of-school parties and whatnot and now we're looking forward to a week where Elsa leaves for Belize, and Luke and Wes both participate in football and basketball camps respectively.  Today at church, the stake presidency was reorganized. Greg Hoole was called as the president, with Nathan Adams as the first counselor, and Michael Hinckley as 2nd counselor.  President Hoole will be the one to release you from your missionary servi...
