Sister Sister

AHHH!! After a 3am wake up, two trains, a bus, and a plane I successfully made it to Floridaaaaa!! The APs picked us up in a van with a giant trailer from the airport. As soon as we were pulling away the back of the trailer took out a car door haha!.  We waited around in the van for about an hour before the cops came so the mission started out very memorable!  It was a crazy time but I'm really happy to be here. It is seriously SO BEAUTIFUL and everyone I've met has been so incredibly nice and welcoming! I'm in a town called Oviedo and I just love it. The ward members are all so amazing. We get fed dinner almost every single night. My first night here a cute member made me an all green dinner because I was the brand new "greenie"
My trainer Sister Siddoway is seriously the best. She just got out of training herself and is the best teacher- so patient and understanding. We kind of talk the same and have very similar mannerisms. At least three or four times a day the people we meet ask if we're sisters in real life too cause we look alike! She's been such a blessing. I love her!!  We live in a house with the STLs (Sister Training Leaders) so it's like a slumber party every night hahah.
I love talking to new people but sometimes I get so distracted talking about their day to day things that I forget I'm a missionary and am supposed to talk about the gospel but my cute companion helps me out.  But talking to people about Christ is so cool. The spirit is so strong and I can just feel Gods love for them and it's such a big motivator.
In the mision you have to do this thing called "backing" where one comp has to stand outside the car and help the driver back out. It looks super funny but while I've been backing my companion we've met two super amazing families who are very interested. One said she felt like we were a "sign from heaven". So so cool.

We did a very interesting service project my very first night here. Some scientist called us and said he needed help "making history." He wanted us to create electricity out of exercise. We went out into a jungle like area and peddled stationary bikes and pushed a big wheel around to turn on a bunch of light bulbs. It was one of the oddest things I've ever done and I couldn't stop laughing. I think I was basically in disbelief that this was my life now hahaha!

Some of my favorite quotes this week :)

"My reassurance is this: the loving God who allowed these tests for you also designed a sure way to pass through them. Heavenly Father so loved the world that He sent His Beloved Son to help us. His Son, Jesus Christ, gave His life for us. Jesus Christ bore in Gethsemane and on the cross the weight of all our sins. He experienced all the sorrows, the pains, and the effects of our sins so that He could comfort and strengthen us through every test in life."
Try Try Try: Henry B Eyering

"But God is not interested in His children just becoming trained and obedient “pets” who will not chew on His slippers in the celestial living room. No, God wants His children to grow up spiritually and join Him in the family business"
Choose You This Day: Dale G Renlund

Thank you all for your messages and love- keep them coming! I'm so so grateful, I LOVE YOU ALL!
