Baptisms And Bugs

Highlights from the last couple weeks! 


We had transfers and sister rubio left me but sister sellers joined me here in merritt island she is so sweet and pure and i already love her so much! 


We got to go and do baptisms for the dead with our recent convert zachary! It was so great he was able to baptize us and the spirit was so strong!! Zachary got to meet the temple president, president Holladay and it was just such a beautiful day!! I also got to see some of my very favorite members from my first area at the temple which was a tender mercy for sure!
On sunday we had zachary and our other recent convert Johan bless the sacrament for the first time and it was just the happiest feeling seeing them both up there progressing and learning in the gospel! 


Tommy and his fiance tantan are getting their marriage license this week so hopefully on Saturday we'll have a wedding/baptism colab. Stay tuned we've tried to get thearriage license twice already but both times we've tried somethings gone wrong so prayers up. We've also inserted ourselves as their weddding planners so thats been exciting hahah tommy and tan tan really are the sweetest humans in the whole world and even though theres a pretty big language barrier you can feel the love they have for each other and the gospel so strong! They cant wait for their family to be sealed in the temple!! 


Weve been teaching a lady named joanne from trinidad and she is AMAZING shes a performer for cruise ships and she lovessss the gospel! She is going through something incredibly difficult right now but she says her faith in God carries her through and the things that we're teaching her give her hope!!


We went to the kennedy space center a couple p days ago and it was cool i didnt get what the hype was all about but got to ride some rides and see some rockets so it was cool


The 4th of july was great theres a member in our ward who used to be in charge of the fireworks for Disneyworld so he put on a big ol show over the water it was pretty magical 


Our lil friend colin got baptized and it was so great!! Hes seriously the smartest 10 year old ive everet and hes really been through some incredibly difficult things but through it all he says faithful and know that making a covenant with God will bless him in every aspect of life! Side note we filled up the font and after it was too late we realized how nasty it was so there were SO many bugs floating in the water and we didn't know what to do so I spent 30 minutes fishing for bugs with a hanger I found in the coat closet good times


Our apartment is having a big cockroach problem for example sister sellers opened up her book of mormon at 6:30 in the morning one day and a 3 inch cockrach jumped out, luckily she calmly kills the roaches while i just scream and run its a perfect duo hahaha jk she really is a champ though 


Other than that life in merritt island is pretty good! Im chuggin along just trying to enjoy and learn as much as i can these last couple of months i get to be a missionary! One of the most amazing things is we're technically doing the teaching but i learn so much from our friends as they are hearing and experiencing the gospel heres a couple quites from this past week of friends that are being taught

Give Time a Chance

This week was solid! Even though the weather was either too hot to even attempt finding outside or pouring rain, we did as best we could! We have a couple of people we're teaching that could be getting ready for baptism! The struggle is getting them to 9:30 church. Apparently it's just too early hahaha Our friend Henry was able to make it to church this week though which is a BIG win. He lives pretty far away and doesn't have a car, which means he has to bike in the Florida heat to come to church. But he came! And said he would come back next week!! The youth in the Oviedo Ward are so amazing,  They always welcome us right in and are so fun to hang out with! Sister Siddoway and I have been inviting them to come to teach lessons with us and they are always SO willing and excited.  It amazes me because I was nothing like that at their age. 2 Baptisms And A Wedding!

That last couple weeks have been so amazing!! For starters last week we we're running out of our friend joannes lesson cause we were late for another one and she just casually says "I'm getting the thought that I need to be baptized next week" we were shook because joanne is amazing but told us it would probably be long a while before she was ready to get baptized but after spending our lesson reading 1 nephi 1 she couldn't deny the spirit she felt and the way she related to nephi! The book of mormon truly has converting power!! The Spirit was so strong and she kept saying how excited she was to be baptized just like Jesus! Her baptism day was so special she had so much support from the ward and she was just beaming with joy the whole day! Her unshaken trust in Jesus Christ has changed me and taught me so much!
