COCOA
Well, I've been in my new area Merritt Island for about 3 weeks now and it's the most beautiful area! It covers Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral where the cruise ships leave from and Merritt Island. Our ward is tiny but the chapel is always full of tourists! It's seriously so fun living here, tons of the members live right on the water and we see dolphins and manatees all the time! Last Sunday a member had us over and we watched the air show over the water from their balcony.
My new companion is Sister Rubio- we became fast friends and I love her so much! She's such a hard worker and absolutely hilarious.
We're teaching some super awesome people and I'm along for the process of getting to know and love all of the people here!
Some fun moments
- I got to go on exchanges with Sister Siddoway (my trainer "mom") It was so fun to be with her and so good to reflect on how far we've both come since it's been almost a year since she trained me!
- We found a Soda shop and I was so happy...I told them I'm from Utah and they said their inspiration comes from Utah! I gave them some tips and some of my favorite drink recipes because they were just a lil confused still hahaha.
- We met a member visiting Cocoa Beach and then started talking to a lady from Sweden at kind of the same time-the member jumped in and started teaching her and got her number and address for us haha.
- I was SO SO sick a little bit ago when it was my first time meeting the members here. I had absolutely no voice at the time so when I gave a talk last Sunday they were surprised that I had an entirely different speaking voice lol.
I've been reflecting a lot on covenants, specifically the baptismal covenant and the fact that we promise God to mourn with those that mourn and comfort those that stand in need of comfort. It's so beautiful we're promising God that we will take care of each other. God is all-powerful and our literal Father in heaven but He trusts us enough that He sent us here and out of His presence because He knew that we would strive to do our best to let His love shine through us. He really does use us as instruments to do his work! I've been learning more about Covenants and trying to lean into the promises I made at baptism and I've seen the blessings! God is good and I love Florida, my mission and you all!!
Love,
Sister Campbell
