Halloweek
This week was so much fun Oviedo loves Halloween so we got to be a part of tons of fun things. First off apparently the young women in the ward have a tradition of doing horror makeup the Wednesday nedore Halloween so we stopped by and sister Daly and Pentecost got all scary lookin but and I was supporting from the sidelines while the primary kids came and face painted my entire face and all down my arms hahahah
On Thursday a ton of ournlessons fell through so we decided to make the most of it and spent the day "booing" people. We made cookies and hand made cutie lil signs. It was so much fun cause we were basically doorbell ditching people in the middle of the day in broad daylight
Then Saturday was the trunk or treat, I've turned into a missionary nerd cause the ward trunk or treat was the highlight of life bahaha. It was huge the ward members went all out and we had a bunch of friends that we invited show up! All this sister missionaries in my district made a trunk and we passed out candy they also made us the judges of the costume contest. They were handing out hotdogs for dinner then the next day during sacrament meeting the ward used the leftover hotdogs buns for the bread, it was very resourceful but for some reason my comps and I could not stop laughing lol
2 quick miracles!!
The other day we had a last minute lunch lesson set up with one of our friends who is truly just not progressing and doesn't really understand what we do as missionaries and our lessons with her normally go WAY over time so we were debating whether or not it was going to be a good use of our time to meet up with her. This girl Laura wanted to meet at a sit down Mexican restaurant and we just knew the meeting was going to take 5ever and the logical thing was to cancel it because we had already had lunch and a packed day ahead of us, but i just kept having the strongest feeling that we needed to meet with her and that it needed to be at menchies lol (next door to the Mexican restaurant) now if you're any of my friends from back home you probably would think I was faking a prompting just so I could go to menchies bahahah but I just felt so strongly about it for some reason anyways we end up meeting at menchies with Laura and the worker was the cutest girl who was SO interested!! She couldn't wait to set up a time to meet with us and was SO eager to learn more! God's hand is truly in everything and menchies brings miracles bahahah
Today is Halloween obviously so we were a little hesitant to go out and street contact but I had the strongest feeling we needed to stop by a park on our way home from dinner. So we stopped and there was absolutely not a soul in sight so I was like wow ok I'm crazy but I still insisted we went out and walked a couple laps around the park and after our third lap we heard someone behind us say "sisters?" We turned around and it was our friend Sally! Sally is someone that we used to teach that had been taught for about 6 months but she just had some things that she could not get over about the gospel so we ended up stopping teaching her about three months ago and have had little contact since then, but we ran into her at the park and talked for a while and she said she had been thinking a lot about us lately!! We didn't like teach a lesson and nothing crazy substantial happened while we were with her but it was such a testimony builder to me about the spirit and having the faith to act on the promptings that I receive no matter how random they seem. This truly is God's work and he wants so bad to use us as instruments we just have to humble enough to let Him use us because the work is going to move forward with or without us and it's just a blessing and a privilege to be a part of it.
